Anniversary Reflections

For Jon Eckert, the energy of Austin’s entrepreneurs keeps him inspired as President and CEO of the bank. In celebration of our 5th anniversary, Jon shares reflections about The Bank of Austin’s dedication to partnership, and what he believes sets his team apart when it comes to service, community engagement, and the ability to offer solutions to clients quickly and creatively.  

What inspires you about Austin business owners? 

Business owners in Austin are innovative, creative and resilient. I am inspired by their drive to always build bigger, and by their dedication to serving our community through their work.  

How has your team taken their partnership with clients to the next level?

Our team is dedicated to providing the kind of partnership that is about far more than just business transactions. The past few years have been uncertain for everyone, and our relationships with our clients have been at the forefront of how we have helped them navigate the current economic environment and the challenges it has presented.  

What makes The Bank of Austin different?

We have the ability to offer financial solutions that are completely outside of the box from what bigger banks are able to offer. We take great pride in our local decision-making abilities and our speed and agility when serving our clients, and it continues to set us apart year after year.

In what ways does The Bank of Austin plan to be there for its clients in the future? 

We always plan to be there for our clients, in prosperous times and in challenging ones. Much like our efforts during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to offer Paycheck Protection Program loans to help our clients through great challenges, our goal is to continue to be innovative and nimble in providing ways for our clients to grow and thrive, no matter the environment.  

As you approach your anniversary this summer, what do you think has been the secret to your team's growth?

I believe the secret to our team’s growth over the past several years is our dedication to partnership. We power solutions for our clients that are not one-size-fits-all. We build authentic personal relationships that are lasting. Internally, we work daily to have a professional culture that fosters development, growth, and collaboration. We want our team members to feel a sense of ownership with their contribution to serving our clients in the Austin business community, and to know how much we value them as we continue to grow.
